Can narrow down, kinda, airport opened in ‘46 and the following airlines serviced it:

PCA/Capital, TWA, All American/Allegheny, and Lake Central

A lot of talk of DC3’s but I really don’t get that from the card.

It may be a Corp or private aircraft 🤷🏻‍♂️

Beech(18) didn’t often have 3 blades and had gear doors, and I think Cessna is smaller than what’s shown. I’m thinking more pre-war med bomber/liner type.

It may just be a general representation but because of detail in rest of postcard I’m thinking it’s not. There are clues:
No gear doors
Upper engine intake
Nose shape
Smooth engine cowl

There were always different variations/mods even of a same aircraft type. So far I’m thinking the pic on right.

Very close to that one on right. There are antennas on nose but those were as needed/haphazardly located. Did you search for airlines that flew to that airport in the general period?

Or heater intake.

Number 1 cause of death is drowning….caused by poor judgement and, on amphibs, not following checklist - GEAR UP for water landing. (Treat it as what it is, a retract aircraft. No matter the surface, gear UP on take off.)

I have both but paper log (4 books) is now years behind and digital is current but lacking all analog prior to start of digital 🤷🏻‍♂️🙄

Marginal VFR is VFR, snow isn’t really an issue, unless it sticks. Couple of circuits and 100👍🏻, and some practical marginal experience. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Ask your instructor to randomly, and at ANY time, present an emergency. Don’t make it an ‘exercise’. That way when you are focused on, say, Nav and relatively relaxed - oops - a failure. You can do it to yourself too. At critical points, say to yourself - engine failure! Or Fire! What/Why/Where?

All of them because they were all ‘new’ items to me, and that’s all I’m saying because I swear I’m still 35!

That happens sometimes when both are on the same wifi…🤷🏻‍♂️ To separate ours (brother in law has one in his room, didn’t want him interfering with ours) I had to put him on a guest network with separate login.

I flew turbine Otters for a while…has to be my fav to fly, they’re great, it’s only just above the Beaver.
And absolutely, when you can, get a float rating. I’d suggest not just anywhere but do it in a ‘bush’ region too. Make it an adventure. 😉

How’d ya like the float flying? It’s flying but totally different. I like saying once you go floats, you won’t want to go back to wheels…unless they are amphib.
