It is very hard not to be cynical about this. These Republicans and GOP-aligned industries knew what they were backing, and did it anyway, fearing they’d lose their seats for not being in lockstep with Trump, or figuring they could donate their way out of whatever Trump is planning.

Today would be a great time for our federal government and leaders in Congress to take a hard look at the Insurrection Act and national emergency processes and figure out what their plan is if they are implemented illegally.

That would be great guys.
