I am deeply grateful to @longnguyen.bsky.social @chuttenh.bsky.social for their guidance throughout the project. Also, I would like to acknowledge and thank all our amazing collaborators from @harvardmed.bsky.social @hsph.harvard.edu @broadinstitute.org who made this work possible! (6/6)

π§¬All data are available at biom-mass.org, as well as the NIH-sponsored repositories. (5/6)
π‘Distinct microbial signatures between non-lean MASLD (body mass index [BMI] β₯25 kg/m2) vs. lean MASLD (BMI <25 kg/m2)βthe latter being a paradoxical subtype of a disease typically associated with increased adiposity. (4/6)
03.07.2025 13:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0π¬Using multi-omic profiling (stool DNA, RNA, and metabolites), we discovered:
π‘Transkingdom dysbiosis involving gut bacteria and viruses in MASLD
π‘Widespread colonization of oral microbes, such as Veillonella and Streptococcus spp., in the gut of individuals with MASLD (3/6)
Our findings provide new insights into the gut-liver axis and the role of the microbiome in the etiopathogenesis of MASLDβa condition characterized by fat accumulation in the liver. (2/6)
