The DC Council just passed, on first vote, the RFK Campus Redevelopment Act of 2025.

We're bringing the Commanders home to RFK and we're activating 180 acres of opportunity on the banks of the Anacostia River.

Today, the Council of DC holds their first vote on the RFK Deal.

It’s time to get through the window of opportunity before it closes. We must deliver for DC.

Commanders, DC mayor make their case to the council for RFK Stadium deal approval - WTOP News D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Washington Commanders officials had a chance to make a case for the deal that would bring the team a new stadium at the RFK site.

I’m asking for the DC Council's strong, unified vote to help shift our economy, grow jobs, grow business opportunities and to bring our team home.

To borrow a phrase, this is a BFD. Very big.

I am pleased to say—without equivocation—that we are delivering the best deal for DC to transform the RFK campus.

Here’s the deal.

The RFK deal will create a new, vibrant neighborhood on the banks of the Anacostia River.

And it will shift our economy, grow jobs and business opportunities, and bring our team home.

Reminder: The RFK deal isn’t just a stadium — it’s jobs, housing, park space, a SportsPlex, and a new waterfront community.

180 acres of vacant land, activated.

This week, we have the chance to make DC history together. We can't let this window of opportunity close.

One year ago, we hit our goal to build 36,000 homes.

Now we have a chance to build more than 6,000 homes at the RFK campus.

This deal is once-in-a-generation. Let’s get it done.

Our young people need mentorship, opportunity, and a clear path forward.

And that's exactly what the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program is delivering for more than 13,000 DC youth this summer.
