The DC Council just passed, on first vote, the RFK Campus Redevelopment Act of 2025.
We're bringing the Commanders home to RFK and we're activating 180 acres of opportunity on the banks of the Anacostia River.
Can't stop, won't stop, never quit.
My full statement:
Today, the Council of DC holds their first vote on the RFK Deal.
Itβs time to get through the window of opportunity before it closes. We must deliver for DC.
Iβm asking for the DC Council's strong, unified vote to help shift our economy, grow jobs, grow business opportunities and to bring our team home.
To borrow a phrase, this is a BFD. Very big.

Throughout the RFK deal process, residents continue to make their voices heard.
From community and small business meetings to Council hearingsβ1st on the BSA June 18, the 2nd this weekβweβre grateful for all the additions, input, and feedback.
Let's get the deal done.
I am pleased to sayβwithout equivocationβthat we are delivering the best deal for DC to transform the RFK campus.
30.07.2025 22:54 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 2Hereβs the deal.
The RFK deal will create a new, vibrant neighborhood on the banks of the Anacostia River.
And it will shift our economy, grow jobs and business opportunities, and bring our team home.
Reminder: The RFK deal isnβt just a stadium β itβs jobs, housing, park space, a SportsPlex, and a new waterfront community.
180 acres of vacant land, activated.
This week, we have the chance to make DC history together. We can't let this window of opportunity close.
One year ago, we hit our goal to build 36,000 homes.
Now we have a chance to build more than 6,000 homes at the RFK campus.
This deal is once-in-a-generation. Letβs get it done.
Our young people need mentorship, opportunity, and a clear path forward.
And that's exactly what the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program is delivering for more than 13,000 DC youth this summer.
We're all feeling the heat today. βοΈ

ICYMI: Here's the bottom line. π
Developing the RFK site means more housing, more jobs, and more opportunities for our residentsβand a brand new Sportsplex for our kids.

You know what, DC? I think we can have a Super Bowl here.
24.07.2025 21:07 β π 5 π 2 π¬ 3 π 0Bringing the Commanders home is a great deal, but it's not a done deal.
It's time to get it over the line.
We're not trading housing for a stadiumβwe're using the momentum of the stadium to build more housing.
βWithout it, 180 acres of opportunity sit vacant.
β
With it, we build over 6,000 new units of housing in Ward 7.
It's a win for our team, our city, and our residents.
There's only one Museum Capital. π¨ πΌοΈ
DC's world-class museums are free, accessible, and located all throughout the cityβready to welcome residents, school trips, and visitors of all ages.
Your museum bucket list begins here:
NEW: Groundbreaking at Fort Davis Community Center. ποΈ
We're investing in the nation's leading park & rec system with a vibrant new facility in Ward 7βsoon to feature a gaming lounge, fitness center, basketball court, & more.
Because every resident deserves world-class spaces.
We're on the 1-yard line.
There's nobody else waiting in the wings with $2.7 billion.
And so this stadium is a catalyst, and it will attract other investments. No fumbles, no interceptionsβlet's just get it over the line.
