I know this episode is Not Great, but I love how Data and Pulaski finally team up and are Objectively Right about the Prime Directive non-issue.

The point of non-interference to to allow for people to develop on their own, they can't develop if they're all dead!

I don't know how prominent Magik is in the actual comics these days, but either way I think it's pretty neat that they put her in a ding dang video game, because she's always been rad as hell.

So I've been consciously putting on weight the last few months, and only today did I realize that I've been wearing my bras way too loose. And after correctly adjusting them have I discovered I now have Honkadonk Titty Streamer Cleavage.

I am a lifelong Pulaski Respecter, the show wouldn't have been half as good if she hadn't dropped into season 2. They desperately needed Curmudgeon energy so the other characters could find their footing. Also it's just fun to have a very TOS archetype into TNG.

I got a lovely email from someone who read Xiaoling was a trans-coded cis character, and this is definitely intentional. Because trans struggles are just an especially visible symptom of a government trying to control human identity.

Also like many trans girls she's a smokeshow but can't see it.

What I've learned is, girls, if you want ladies to talk to you:

1) wear a denim jacket over a black dress
2) have some kind of sword design on said jacket
3) own a keychain with a popular yuri on it
4) live in Portland

But I guess in fairness, given the mostly bad writing and messy production of S1, almost none of the actors really had figured out who their characters are. But I still don't think there was anything interesting you could get out of Tasha Yar beyond being killed by a puddle.

The funny thing about that ep is that irl Rick Berman obviously did Denise Crosby dirty, but it's hard to ignore that Tasha Yar was a really crappy character, and Denise Crosby's not a very good actor.

It's wild though how they brought her back in later seasons and made her life somehow even worse

Still thinking about the girl on TikTok who, before realizing she was a lesbian, self-identified as "bisexual but aroace towards men."
