If your hair is very dark, applying a color on top might give it a slight tinge under sunlight. It's a cool effect! I had black hair that had that anime "black" purple color in the sun.

You apply it outside of the shower like a leave in mask, let it sit for however long, & rinse until clear water.

Also! It takes a few hours to get bleaching done...but the color touchups are super quick DIY once you get the hang of it. Like an hour if you're only letting it absorb for 15 minutes. If you're handy with color theory, you modify your colors without striping too.

That being said! Be prepared for dye bleed and having to deal with staining in your shower/sink depending on the dye you use and how it works with your hair. Some colors bleed worse than others.

If I remodel my bathroom, I'm getting a metal or a black tiled/grouted shower!

You're supposed to section your hair evenly, measure out your dye, and apply it section by section with the application brush.

NGL, I sacrilegiously apply directly to my hair straight from the bottle and work in with my hands and brush it through like a hair mask and it's good enough!

Lazy Mode Color Refresh Tools
1. Gloves
2. Hair color of choice
3. Plastic grocery bag, or hair cover if you're fancy
4. Preferred method of making hair sections
5. Preferred method of applying dye
6. Old clothes and protection for surfaces

Bleaching damages hair, so I use Bondbar shampoo/conditioner/etc. to help repair the damage. They have color depositing shampoos too! You can mix leftover fashion colors in conditioner to make a custom color depositing conditioner, or buy a premade one.

I get it bleached professionally, then maintain the color DIY. Super easy! A color depositing shampoo & conditioner makes it last longer, but you can always just reapply.

Fashion colors are just like leave in hair masks, but you have have to wear gloves/old clothes to protect from color drips.

This is what I use for a long running cough:

Warm mist humidifier 60% humidity, HEPA filter, face steamer + allergy/decongestant/cough suppressant twice a day AND cough drops all day.

Apparently the irritation from coughing causes more coughing, so limiting triggers was the key to break the cycle.
