The Fly is absolutely one of the best movies ever made. Saw that so many times in the theater when it came out. Still quote it to myself (and one like-minded friend) all the time.

A page from the William Gibson novel Agency in which the POV character talks about the fall of democracy and the insulating power of the kleptocracy. Apologies for not typing the whole thing out on my phone.

it's fun when William Gibson reads like the lore in a TTRPG module, especially when he's just talking about the here and now

At last we begin the transition out of our current hellscape and into Entertainment Capitalism. (No, we are not leaving the frying pan, whatever makes you say such a thing?)

When I was doing startups, we used to call that last one "the bus factor." Goal was to reduce the bus factor as much as possible. You calculate the bus factor by asking, How fucked are we if the CEO gets hit by a bus? For most companies? Very fucked.

Casting my vote for supernatural. Lean hard into what differentiates your thing from all the other things.

In the Light of a Setting Sun is a rules-lite game of bigger-than-life cowpokes on an unforgiving frontier. It it, you can play as cowherds on a long cattle drive, gunslingers solving problems in dusty border towns, or no-good outlaws on the run from a bloodthirsty sheriff. (1/?)

Fiasco iterated its way to this. Early versions were just rules and you supply index cards. Fancy stuff came only once it gained a lot of traction.
