Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Trump and his cronies have the BBC in their sights. Leaders can’t stay silent while one of our great institutions is attacked.

We must defend its independence, end political appointments, and remove Robbie Gibb from the Board.

Photograph of leader Ed Davey speaking on left. To the right, a quote is displayed in white and orange text: “The BBC isn’t perfect, as we've pointed out - but it remains one of the few institutions standing between our British values and a populist, Trump-style takeover of our politics.

“As a public service broadcaster, its role is vital in ensuring our politics is based on facts, scrutiny, and accountability.

“These attacks on the BBC are not just attacks on a broadcaster —they are a strategy by the hard right to replace the truth with propaganda.

"We must stand up for a free press, free speech and a strong and independent public broadcaster, to stop Trump's America becoming Farage’s Britain.

A free, independent BBC is vital to a free, informed democracy.

Don’t let Trump’s America become Farage’s Britain.

A social media post by Karoline Leavitt (The White House Press Secretary) showing two news headlines side-by-side. The left headline, under a caption that reads "Shot" reads: "Trump goes to war with 'fake news' BBC," and the right headline under a caption that reads "Chaser" reads: "Tim Davie resigns as BBC director general over Trump documentary edit."

I had my disagreements with the BBC under Tim Davie but he was a decent man doing a difficult job.

To see Trump's White House claiming credit for his downfall and attacking the BBC should worry us all.

Two headlines which read:
The heroic man who confronted Huntingdon train knifeman as friends pay tribute
Stephen Crean has been named as a hero who confronted the Huntingdon train stabbings attacker which left 10 people in hospital
AND
Samir Zitouni, one of the Huntingdon heroes, praised for saving lives
The LNER employee of more than 20 years suffered serious injuries when he confronted a knifeman during a stabbing attack on the train

As well as a tweet by Ed Davey reading: Samir Zitouni and Stephen Crean are heroes who saved lives. They showed the best of Britain: putting themselves in harm's way to protect others.

They both deserve the George Cross in recognition of their incredible bravery.

He isn't a party leader. He's a CEO. And his investors have spoken.

I hope the BBC will challenge Nigel Farage today over the economic damage caused by the Brexit he championed.

He needs to be held to account for the damage he's done instead of always being given an easy ride.

In real elections up and down the country, it's the Liberal Democrats that are taking on Reform UK's divisive politics.

I did a little 'Clacton' search in Hansard earlier. He's mentioned us five times in Parliament since the election, incl his maiden speech. Mostly winter fuel allowance. Nothing since Feb. For comparison, nearby Colchester MP Pam Cox (no relation) has 25 hits for 'Colchester'.

We do not have an MP.
