It's been a great few weeks. We found the living fathers for Megan, Paul and Richard along with new half siblings for older clients Gillian and Dawn. And we found grandfathers for Debra and Audrey. Natasha has sent a photo of meeting her father for the first time too which we hope to show you soon.
16.05.2025 20:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fascinating talking with scouse Maria about her search for her birth father after the shock of discovering her beloved Dad wasn't genetically related to her #Liverpool #DNA #Family www.facebook.com/FindMyBirthF...

23.03.2025 11:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Michael from Tyneside describes his search for his birth mother and father, and how meeting his siblings has changed his life.
Michael's case was solved by Nadine in our team, a big thank you to her for her sterling work.

What a day. Debbie phoned to say she met her birth father at the weekend for the first time. Duncan phoned to confirm his DNA results were in and he was indeed a paternal sibling match to Katherine. And Judith phoned to thank us for the report identify both of her parents #DNAGenealogy
20.01.2025 18:51 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Second podcast recorded today. Michael's search for his birth family. Him meeting his late mother's identical twin sister was particularly emotional - as you can imagine!
07.01.2025 18:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Recorded our first (audio) podcast interview with a client yesterday. Next step is editing. It took 3 months to find the best way to record a quality sound. Hope learning about the editing doesn't take as long. Wonders of DNA #genealogy
14.12.2024 11:10 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I will look out for it tomorrow
08.12.2024 22:14 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fairly easy for you to prove, I mean.
08.12.2024 21:29 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0If you send me an email to info@findingfamilies.co.uk I can lay out the steps for you. Fairly easy to prove if you've already done the hard part.
08.12.2024 21:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Paul's father is going to be tough to trace. Looks like he was the illegitimate child of an Italian POW and a Londoner who was herself illegitimate. We've got our work cut out. The wonders of DNA #genealogy
08.12.2024 17:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We speculate that Suzanne's grandfather knew about the illegitimate daughter that he fathered when he was 21. His first legitimate child was later given the identical same first and middle name. The wonders of DNA #genealogy
08.12.2024 17:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This week, we found the Lewis islander who fathered Jane's mum back in late 1918. He was by then with the Canadian Expeditionary Force. There are indications he got two women pregnant at broadly the same time. Must have been a real charmer. The wonders of DNA #genealogy
08.12.2024 17:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We've had a beautiful testimonial from Nicky whose birth father we found. And a smashing photo. www.facebook.com/share/p/1Eht...
27.11.2024 20:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We've taken on a few new paternal Jewish DNA searches. One of our specialities but still very difficult. So many of the usual tools in the tool box simply aren't there. Inconsistency over country of origin, different surnames adopted, the destruction of generations of cousins during the Holocaust.
22.11.2024 20:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Flo now knows who her unknown father was. DNA points straight to him. Whether he worked at Whessoe in Darlington 70 years ago remains to be seen. #genealogy
20.11.2024 19:18 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We've solved some fascinating cases this month. Trish's grandfather has been identified through the marvels of DNA. He was a Manchester theatre manager a hundred years ago or so. It turns out the elderly relative with early dementia wasn't making it up after all. #genealogy

18.11.2024 09:20 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks very much. I may set up a professional account for my genealogy wirk in due course but for now I shall enjoy seeing what people are talking about. Much appreciated

18.11.2024 08:50 β π 2 π 2 π¬ 2 π 0A few post their own stuff. But too many have had their fingers burnt over the years with stupid posts. Or the trolling is too damaging for their mental health. So they mostly just don't do it anymore.
18.11.2024 00:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Politicians don't do their own social media anyway. Any of them. Not if they have any kind of ambition. They have their staff do it for them.
17.11.2024 23:42 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I am bored to death of so many posts on every platform being about other platforms. Post something worth engaging with, share, exchange. Be original. Grow. Please.
17.11.2024 23:40 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Squeeze 50th anniversary tour in the Globe in Stockton on Tees. Fantastic night. Great tunes.
