#Scriptsky finished a new draft of my vampire feature over the weekend. I was always intimidated to write horror but I love vampires so I said fuck it. Glad I did. Really happy with this one.

#scriptsky thought it might be useful to share tips from #AFF panels I found insightful for those who couldn’t go.

If you’re looking for representation, a big theme was to network laterally. Forge real connections with fellow writers. Many reps find new clients based on recs from existing ones.

Not sure if Cloverfield technically qualifies, but I’d personally add it to this list.

Do I feel inspired today? Not really.
Well-rested? No, I’m tired as hell.
Do I think this script is good? Not today.
But the butt is in the chair and we’re getting pages. In the end, that’s what matters. #5AMwritersclub #Scriptsky

I have to write a lot for work. I tried afternoons after finishing, but I was so fried I got nothing done.

Getting up early and getting a few hours in beforehand has been much more sustainable and successful for me.

Think of it like the gym, do what works for your body. Good luck!

#Scriptsky it’s spooky season! So naturally, I’m finally digging into my vampire feature. Couldn’t get into the right headspace during summer, but now the shadows are getting longer and there’s a bite in the air…

Got my flight confirmation for Austin. Excited to be around other writers, attend some panels, and just generally recharge the creative batteries… Only a week away!

#Scriptsky anybody else seen Black Rabbit on Netflix? It’s not exactly breaking new ground in terms of originality, but it’s executed at a really high level, it’s tense as hell, and the acting’s great. I’ve really enjoyed it. Plus POS Jason Bateman is my favorite Jason Bateman.

Rewatched it last night…. Wow. That’s such a subtle moment I totally missed the first time I saw it. Great callout!
