Day two of being a federal government worker. I have not been fired. Looking good so far.

I am kinda having anxiety/panic attacks over the latest Executive Order that talks about reduction in force. I am due to start a government job in just a few weeks.

There are ways to cut costs and improve efficiency, but those being used are not it.
I know a way to cut over $1.4 Billion over the course of 4 years. Eliminate DOGE and their $7 million a week cost.
Tune in next time for more cost saving tips, probably not but maybe?

I could be wrong but I think the DOJ case against Illinois and Chicago will be dismissed on the basis of the Anti-Commandeering doctrine.

I call that dereliction of duty. They are allowing what is happening in the United States. They are complicit in these actions.

Thankfully, I’m not a public official and there is nothing that prevents me from blocking them, so I do. It’s better than engaging.

I replied to a post on Threads from the ACLU filing a lawsuit that would block the EO preventing gender affirming care for those under 19. I know of someone who was scheduled to have top surgery TODAY but can’t now because they are 18. Some of the comments are simply hateful.

Good thing everyone voted against Kamala because of her views on Israel and Gaza. She probably would want all Palestinians to relocate and have the US take over Gaza.

Congrats on an amazing season by the Commanders. I don’t like the team, but I can respect what they did this year.

I have used Snopes to verify info for years now, but they are peddling knowingly false information on Threads. They say people were not forced to follow the new admins accounts on Meta. Except people were. Snopes posted and then deleted their post twice and reposted a 3rd time despite being wrong

I’m pretty sure all these deal that DJT is making (or his family) is old violate 5 CFR Part 2365 Subpart G about ethics for executive branch employees/officers. And yes, for that part it does apply to the president.
I could be wrong since I’m an engineer not a legal expert.

What I will say is this hiring freeze is BS and impacts a lot of people. Do you know how long it takes to get a federal job? It takes months! Even after getting the tentative offer you wait for months.

I had to submit fingerprints and have a background check just to adopt my wife's kids! These people will be in charge of running entire departments within the government!

I have to undergo background checks every few years to maintain my security clearance despite not really working with anything that requires it, only the possibility that I could. Yet, people TFG is picking for the cabinet might not require FBI background checks?
