Islamophobia is Pervasive, Systemic, and a Threat to All - ISPU

Czuba, who threatened the family before attacking Wadee and his mother, who survived, made hateful comments about Palestinians and Muslims. These comments were central to his conviction last week on hate crime charges, as well as murder.

Since October 2023, there has been a surge in reported bias incidents against Muslims, many of which have been life-altering and, in some cases, deadly. That includes the tragic murder of six-year-old Wadee Alfayoumi by his family's landlord Joseph Czuba in Illinois in 2023.
