We will see intimidation/escalation over the next few years, and we will need strong city leadership. We must be vigilant but careful not to speculate or spread rumors and fear.

Please support businesses and restaurants on Lake St. The immigrant community needs support and love.

Watching MPD protect/enable this act of force is deeply disturbing and is emblematic of the police state’s priorities: violence over meeting human needs.

Officials present in the operation were from ICE’s HSI in collaboration with enforcement and removal (ERO). Shame on MPD for protecting them.

Me da mucho dolor en mi corazón ver la violencia en contra de nuestras comunidades.

The sheer display of force that took place Tuesday on Lake and Bloomington, aided by county/city police at a time when immigrants live in fear, is unacceptable in a supposedly sanctuary city.

Happy Earth Day!

Our campaign is centered around environmental justice, so we want to take a moment today to celebrate our beautiful parks, river, and wildlife.

We must face the climate emergency boldly and adapt to our new climate, mitigate our environmental impact, and repair racialized harm.

Minneapolis families are hungry for more immersion schools, and we must work to expand the Stable Homes, Stable Schools program that has helped so many immigrant families.

statement that reads "Last Tuesday, we lost the SD60 primary. I wish to congratulate my fellow candidates for running. I look forward to building solidarity so we can protect and empower our community together. I’m grateful to the people we met and built connections with during this election, and I'm thrilled to work alongside you all soon.

We ran in the State Senate for the same reason we’re still running for City Council: we have something that deserves to be said, and we have people in our lives who we are fighting for. In these tumultuous times, lived experience, particularly from immigrants and students, is necessary to chart a shared course for all of us."

Statement that reads "However, with our newfound experience and momentum, we are refocused on our City Council campaign. Our vision, our drive, and our commitment remain steadfast, and we are ready to take on the race for Ward 3. We will protect and expand Minneapolis' sanctuary protections and keep ICE out of our city.

We will expand our city's capacity for social services, especially for immigrants, non-citizens, and non-English speakers, to meet their legal and economic needs. We will continue the work for the North STAR Act at the state legislature."

We will enumerate protections for and provide support to tenants' organizations. Lastly, we will treat our unhoused neighbors with respect and ensure they are housed through proven supportive housing programs.

MPD must be held financially and morally accountable, especially via the state and federal consent decrees. We must diversify our approach to community safety through more initiatives for unarmed and de-escalating responses to crises, such as the Behavioral Crisis Response Team, public safety ambassadorships, and Public Safety Centers. We will hire more civilian investigators, build urgently needed street-lighting in Ward 3, and fight encroaching city surveillance practices."

Statement that reads "For transit, we will work with government partners to improve frequency of bus routes and ensure that new light rail and bus lines are well-funded and built on time. Transit should be a public service; therefore, it should be free for all. Minneapolis must do better to keep our sidewalks and streets safe for all by keeping them free of snow and ice and by building traffic calming projects.

Our environment faces historic dangers, and we must declare a climate emergency to adequately mitigate and adapt. We must hold our city accountable to net zero emissions by 2050, in accordance with the Climate Equity, 2040, and Northside Green Zone Work Plan. We will bolster our green economy through energy requirements, urban farms, and a Minneapolis Climate Corps."

We believe that it is vital to promote best public health practices in the interest of everyone's safety, especially those that are disproportionately faced with exposure to the virus, harsh workplace conditions, and lack of healthcare access.

Undocumented agricultural workers are being exposed to a deadly virus without the proper protections by their employers. These large agricultural companies will often threaten their undocumented employees due to their legal status if they report this workplace malpractice or call in sick.

Admittedly, our campaign hasn't been on top of our mask game to appease moderates and loud and proud anti-maskers. That changes now. The rise of H5N1, Norovirus, and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic reminds us that to protect our neighbors, we must mask up. Resources: linktr.ee/maskblocmsp
