It’s 100% valid to be like “fuck Dropout, I don’t want to support copaganda.”

YES AND

it’s a bad idea to try to channel all your radical ideological hopes and dreams into a comedy streaming service run by a guy whose dad was Bill Clinton’s secretary of labor

Have you played the Kaito DLC?

For that they must be held accountable.

They must be forced to face what they did.

Wael’s death can’t go unrecognized and it must count as part of the official death toll.

Abolish ICE. Put all that money into better social supports. It would save lives.

It’s eugenics. It’s inhumane. It’s a level of cruelty that I hoped to never witness in my life.

If my caregivers were suddenly ripped away from me, I don’t know what I would do.

Many of us are in this exact same situation

ICE didn’t just kill Wael, they made his last few months needlessly painful

It’s terrifying to be that dependent on another person.

It’s terrifying to know that if something happens to them you will likely suffer and die.

ICE didn’t give Wael a second thought.

They left a 30 year old man with no help, no hope and no way to survive.

If you’re not fortunate enough to have someone to step up and be a caregiver, you’re largely out of luck.

Wael had his father. He was his best friend but he was also the reason Wael was able to survive.

Caregivers are essential to survival and also reducing suffering.

People want to believe that if things get bad enough support will magically show up.

Heck I want to believe it. But it’s simply not true.

Disabled people get very meagre support if they’re lucky. It’s not enough money to live on, and it’s certainly not enough to hire help.

As a severely disabled person, I’m haunted by what the regime did to Wael Tarabishi.

They ripped his father away from him.

His father was his full time caregiver.

They killed Wael. You can’t remove a person’s full time caregiver and expect them to survive.

There’s no “back up”.

I'm having serious wheelchair problems. My chair is 5 years old and, thankfully, due for replacement. Unfortunately it's trying to die on me before I can get said replacement.

I'm having motor issues, and if the motor goes out I'll be stuck wherever it decides to break down. As I have to drive my chair a mile each way to work each night in the cold , that leaves a LOT of potential bad spots to break down, some where I might not be seen or found for hours. I'm taking a huge risk every night I go to work, and really any time I go out.

So get the motor replaced, right? If I do, there's a good chance Medicare then rejects my replacement chair because it just replaced a motor on the current one. And yes, that has happened to me before.
So I'm in a really bad position. I'm hoping to raise $4k, enough to cover my costs of living for 2 months so I don't have to drive this chair into the ground working in what is my worst time of year for work, anyway. I really can't risk being completely immobile for the month+ it takes to get a new chair and have no better options.

I'm so sorry.

Hey, I know a lot of you use Discord.

You need to get on this survey and make it damn clear to them that this would be the absolute wrong direction. The last thing we need is the slop-spewing environment-chewing plagiarism bots invading there, too.

A dog is in a gift shop called "Fetch." The salesclerk is ringing up his purchase, a stick, and she's saying to him, "Just so you know, you can bring it back as many times as you want and we'll throw it for you." The customer is smiling and saying, "That's a generous return policy."

Anyone who says “be normal” betrays that they have an implicit value system of who is considered normal and who is not, and when you have that, you will always value some people and traits over another. They will always replicate hierarchies of power in the long run.

Hi everyone, it looks like I ran out of time. I have so many dreams that I wanted to fulfill and plans to create new stories for you. There are a few in progress that might come to fruition in a few years if things work out. I did not ever imagine I would live to this age and end up a writer, editor, activist, and more. As a kid riddled with insecurity and internalized ableism, I could not see a path forward. It was thanks to friendships and some great teachers who believed in me that I was able to fight my way out of miserable situations into a place where I finally felt comfortable in my skin.
We need more stories about us and our culture.
You all, we all, deserve the everything and more in such a hostile, ableist environment. Our wisdom is incisive and unflinching. I'm honored to be your ancestor and believe disabled oracles like us will light the way to the future. Don't let the bastards grind you down. I love you all.

loads of problems would be resolved in our society if we embraced two truths:
1) sometimes you need to shut the fuck up and mind your own business
2) sometimes being mildly inconvenienced is essential for society to function and that starts at an interpersonal level

"Democrats will never fully support disabled people because disability is the antithesis of capitalism. It requires we take a step back from always making a profit when it comes to the lives of people who can produce no profit outside of extraction from our for-profit healthcare system."

100% this.
