What a failure of leadership. Leadership isn't just what happens behind closed doors. It's also about the message you send to the American people. And this was a message of spinelessness - the opposite of what we voted for Tuesday.

Mine is Schumer but he got an earful from me anyway.

I mean I doubt he believes it but god I hope it is.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

I feel like that was true last year as well. A lot of Dems spoke of Trump winning as an existential threat to democracy but then treated the election and post election time as somewhat "business as usual". If this is all an existential threat (which I believe it is), then treat it as such.

You inflicted 40 days of pain on the country for nothing. I was behind you when it seemed you stood for something. Now? You are all an embarrassment. Protect health care? Don't make me laugh.

My family has been without half our income for 40 days. It has been.. very hard.

We are willing to feel that pain so people can have health care next year, or to undo these illegal recissions.

We are not willing to have been put through this for NOTHING.

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

So the oldest person ever to become president keeps falling asleep in his office during public events and there’s no big public discussion on how this is a coverup or how republicans are lying to us about how this government is running?

And once again - the media is taking the bait and platforming her all over the airwaves instead of making her irrelevant as they should.

Democrats just ran the table, winning the marquee races -- NJ and VA sweeps, NYC mayor, CA prop, PA Supreme Court -- and lower-profile races in red and purple states across the nation.

If the media you're reading or watching paints this as anything but a massive win, stop reading or watching them.

We're all going to write pieces about what you can learn from tonight but it's actually pretty simple: The frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.
