Publication alert! New paper examines attitudes toward deep-sea mining, a proposed source of critical minerals with major environmental tradeoffs. While some U.S. policymakers see DSM as a path to critical minerals independence, many in the environmental community view it as an unacceptable risk.

To me it’s both a reminder that all is not lost even with recent losses, and a warning that incremental change requires forward progress.
