The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books were what got me into reading fiction

The name “hornero” literally means “oven-maker,” since their nests look like clay wood-fired ovens.

Some horneros built a nest in front of my office window at the previous house I rented. Those nests are very solidly built.

This way of settling devastation is so fascinating to me. I think many people have written about it being permission — if you can pay the fine/settlement then why not, when you make so much money from it in the first place?
