In refusing to back down from their demands that we strip healthcare from millions of Americans, Republicans are choosing dysfunction over helping the American people simply for political gain.

The last week has been a busy one for the Dems—we’re working hard to fight the Trump administration and deliver results for the Valley. We hope you’ll join us!

We’re fighting for accountable leadership that will show up for the Valley—which isn’t Derrick Van Orden. Our candidates are prepared to show the Valley what real leadership looks like.

Republicans felt so strongly that 15 million Americans shouldn’t have health care that they shut down the government.

It is not “pro-life” to defund our schools and hospitals over political differences. It is not “pro-life” to strip trans people of their healthcare.
There is nothing “Pro-Life” about what MAGA is doing.

Unlike some Republicans, Dems aren’t calling for the Republican Party to banned entirely, or to be declared a “terrorist organization”.

That’s because we care about free speech and rule of law. We know they are the essential basis of our democracy, and we will continue fighting to protect them.

We know a government shutdown isn’t ideal for anyone—but Republicans cannot hold the budget hostage while making wild demands like banning all trans healthcare. Democrats have been more than willing to get this done—it is the demands of the Republicans that have led us to where we are now.

Instead of working to find a solution that will help the American people, the Trump administration is resorting to childish racism. These are real posts made by the President—this administration is an international embarrassment.

Our candidates treat each other with respect and civility—we are proud to be represented by leaders who prioritize kind, communicative politics. A central goal of ours is to advocate for people-focused, civil discourse, and we’re proud to say our candidates are as dedicated to this aim as we are.

ICE has erected a gate to keep protesters out. They are blocking a public street, despite the Broadview Fire Department ordering ICE to tear it down.

It’s deeply worrying to hear that Tom Tiffany is running for Governor. Tiffany has a long record of attacking unions, advocating for fracking, and hateful rhetoric towards minorities. Wisconsin has a long, progressive history, and we hope our next Governor will live up to our forward-thinking past.

For everyone’s sake, Congressman, delete Twitter and focus on helping the people of the Valley fight the homelessness crisis, the collapsing job market, or even just get out there and talk to them face-to-face. Stop trolling online and start doing your job.

We don’t believe our Representatives should be using their power to hurt their constituents. Congressman Derrick Van Orden is threatening to cut funding for the entire city of Ellsworth because he disagrees with the opinions of one school teacher.

The Valley is facing a spiraling homelessness crisis, a collapsing jobs market, and critical hospital closures. Instead of working to address these crises, our congressman Derrick Van Orden is threatening to deliberately pull federal funding to punish us further.

The trans community is an accepting, welcoming environment—to claim they pose a “domestic terrorist threat” is just hateful fearmongering.

The Eau Claire Dems stand against censorship—we are against book bans, against Republican’s censorship effort, and against the Trump admin’s attempts to silence the press. The First Amendment is a crucial pillar of this republic—we must protect it.

Anti-fascist action is a long and storied American tradition. From WWII to Ukraine, fighting fascism has been a constant of American life and politics for generations.
Banning anti-fascist movements isn’t just censorship—it’s anti-American.

Out City Council successfully banned Conversion Therapy—a win we hope to see reflected at the state level. Conversion therapy is a harmful, inherently homophobic practice. It’s time to embrace empathetic governance.

We may not agree with Charlie Kirk’s politics, but we are horrified heartbroken to hear of his murder. Political violence corrodes the basis of our democracy, and we must unite together against this threat.

Because of course they are.

Our candidates are happy to get out into the community and connect with people face-to-face. We’re fighting for leadership that won’t hide from their constituents, and we’re proud to have candidates who are up to the task!
