💡Who does Gen Z trust on health care?

A majority say Democrats in Congress, while 28% say they don’t trust either party.

Just 12% named Republicans — the lowest of any generation.

In our latest survey, we asked Americans who disapprove of Trump’s handling of the economy to explain why — here’s what they said:

An overwhelming share of Americans say they’ve seen, read, or heard about Donald Trump in recent days.

And what they’ve heard is mostly negative:

➡️ Just 43% recall positive news

What did Americans think about the Trump Administration’s behavior during the shutdown?

Take a look:

When asked to identify the top most concerning of the Trump Administration’s shutdown expenses, a majority pointed to the $300 million East Wing demolition for a new ballroom.

✈️That was followed by 44% who flagged the $170 million in private jets for HHS Secretary Kristi Noem.

This year, Americans are heading into Black Friday with more economic worry than last year.

Only 29% rate the U.S. economy positively, and 63% feel uneasy about their personal finances — up 13 points from 2024.

Last year, more than half of Americans shopped on Black Friday — and 82% of them said they got a good deal.

As the year comes to a close, most Americans say they’re feeling uneasy about their personal finances, including:

📊 72% of women — including 78% of women under 55
📊 74% of Americans in service industry jobs
📊 70% of 18–34 year olds
📊 68% of Latino Americans

With costs weighing on families this Thanksgiving, a plurality of Americans say they trust Democrats in Congress more than Republicans to handle rising costs and inflation by 6 points — but 23% still say they trust neither.

Across demographics, Americans report having a negative view of the U.S. economy, including:

➡️ 72% of Latino Americans
➡️ 66% of White Americans

Just 33% of Latinos approve of Trump’s handling of the presidency.

And among the 65% who disapprove — most (43%) say they strongly disapprove.

63% of Americans say the country is on the wrong track, including:

Many Americans are turning to social media for current events: 40% say it’s one of their primary sources.

➡️ When it comes to specific accounts or creators, 20% say they rely on social media creators and influencers as a main source — including 32% of independents.

Where are Americans getting their news on current events?

📱 Social media leads at 40% — and nearly half of independents rely on it.
📺 Broadcast TV (39%) and local TV (39%) follow close behind.
💻 And 34% turn to online news websites.

Over the last few months, more Americans say they’ve become familiar with NYC Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani — with familiarity increasing by 24 points since the end of June.

📱 Latinos are tuning in — and scrolling.

Our data shows they’re more likely to identify as active news consumers and also rely on social media for news at higher rates than the general public.

Americans are clear about who they think is driving higher health care costs:

🔴 47% — Trump & Republicans in Congress
🔵 21% — Democrats in Congress
⚖️ 19% — Both equally
❌ 6% — Neither

Concern over rising health care costs & losing coverage if Congress doesn’t act:

📊 78% of Americans say they are concerned — 60% are extremely concerned.

That includes:
🔵 92% of Democrats
🟣 79% of Independents
🟥 64% of Republicans

According to our latest polling, most Americans say that health care costs are increasing:

📈 73% say costs are going up
📉 Just 8% say costs are going down
⚖️ 19% say costs are staying the same

A plurality of Americans trust Democrats in Congress to handle health care — nearly double the share who trust Republicans in Congress or Trump.
