Ran the Every Woman’s Marathon this morning! Not my best and not my worst. It was actually a pretty good course, but my speed work has been nonexistent lately, so I couldn’t expect more. I need to start more serious training!

Same thing with me running. People ask how I have time to train, and it’s because I only watch about 1 hour of TV at night.

Brooklyn was my favorite borough of the ‘23 NYC marathon, and now it’s my favorite borough of NYC again.

I was a newish mom and so proud of our country. I have gained more cynicism since then, which makes me so damn sad. Not enough cynicism to push me to inaction, but enough to lack the hope I once had.

In a rare win for American parents, New Mexico has officially become the first US state to provide free child care up to age 13 for all families. This is a bit of good news that's worth celebrating and it's an example of what could be possible for us nationwide.

We had a ton of trick-or-treaters last night, including a decent amount of high school kids. Everyone was so polite and cool. Much fun had and almost all of the candy depleted.
