Yet another tragic theological error of Christian history has been the elevation of penal substitutionary atonement to the level of "the gospel." It's not the gospel: there is no description of euangelion or kerygma in the NT that clearly and directly includes penal substitutionary atonement. ➡️

Just received this latest book by Greg Boyd (and Scott Boren) and it's good. Real good. "God Looks like Jesus" is short and concise that argues that God looks... like... Jesus. Entirely. Completely. If you're all, "Yah but whutbout...?" then read this and you'll see.
