This facility is one of the largest sources of climate alarmism in the country. A comprehensive review is underway & any vital activities such as weather research will be moved to another entity or location.

NSF is about to dismantle NCAR at Russell Vought's direction to protect the fossil fuel industry. It's hard to communicate just how much NCAR does, so let's take a look: I've never worked at NCAR, and I've worked with NCAR researchers once ever. The Trump administration will freeze funding for USGS Ecosystems Mission Area programs and plans workforce cuts. Although a judge temporarily blocked the layoffs, college students and USGS wildlife professionals face weeks of uncertainty.

With the imminent downsizing of the USGS EMA, maybe I'm throwing my grief out there. That this could be the end for this leg of my journey. And what a loss for our up-and-coming scientists. Yet I still hope we survive the downsizing.

What do the USGS Ecosystem Mission Areas (EMA) mean to me? They are where I gained the bulk of my wildlife experience: not only through fieldwork but also learning how to analyze those data.

When I started twelve years ago, I had no idea this was where I wanted to pursue my career.

DOI was notified of competitive areas on April 15. They have to wait 30 days to take action (RIF)- that is next week.

This story validates the concern.

Of our 8000+ employees in January, 1500 have opted into voluntary departures. Another 1000 were removed from FWS and consolidated to DOI.

It didn't sound like "closing imminent" struggling, just that it's not a very profitable business. But they're more passionate about their mission than making profits and want to keep it afloat!

I got to meet the current owner last year. I told her that I love the pruning guide on their website. She said that was probably her dad and that he wrote a lot of the content on the pages! She also mentioned that the business has been struggling if anyone wants some plants or seeds~

Have you read the president’s budget that was released today? Aside from the disgusting, offensive language and blatant lies, the cuts would be catastrophic. DOI cuts alone would destroy NPS, cut all natural resources/climate research at USGS, eliminate state wildlife agency funding sources… (1/3)
