Geese are freaking amazing, they are great parents, they have found ways to survive and thrive in our weird human landscapes, they are gorgeous, their babies are cute

yes they poop a lot, so do people. If we stopped making good goose habitat they would stop pooping on it

Gabriel (my husband) just got an #ornithology paper published!! πŸ₯³

He had a hypothesis & β€œstrongly supported” (read basically proved) it. There was literally a eureka moment & incredible natural history knowledge contribution about an amazing bird!

I’m so proud of him! πŸ₯°

I’m giving a ppt on warblers (with emphasis on ones that don’t have warbler in their name - redstart, waterthrush, etc) of the Western Hemisphere at the end of the month. #Bird family overview mostly. ~7-10 min. Intro/gen audience.

What do I have to include?
What’s your fav warbler related fact?

Same. Would be a nice state bird. I was lucky to get my lifer at New River Gorge in WV though. Those gigantic rhododendrons are something!

This weather has definitely been something! That super cell a couple weeks ago especially. I hope the birds are all ok. Impacts (hopefully just delays) won’t be thattt bad. 🀞

Went once a week or so ago. That Swainson’s Warbler was a nemesis!
Between rain, schedules, and everything else haven’t had a chance to get back yet.
You?

They’re the warbler β€œthat swallowed the sun” is something I overheard once. It’s hard to deny that!

They’ll always be wonky if nothing else!! Trying to stand out in the warbler crowd that’s for sure!

Nothing causes a tiff in a birder couple like eBird list reminiscing/review and discrepancies….and if lists differ between partners, oh golly! 😱
