A juvenile red tailed hawk, light colored body and tail with faint bars, dark brown wings and face, sitting on a rusty old wrought iron fence with pointy bits on top. A big fancy cast iron lamppost can be seen behind him, as well as a fancy stone wall with windows. It was outside a big old 19th century church. One of the windows has a small, hand-painted “jesus loves you” sign in it. The hawk is looking directly at you. He is judging you.

🪶 Lads have been absent a few days, so here’s a juvenile red tailed hawk sitting on a fence in town from this weekend. He was watching a bunny in the snow (like a hawk, snort) and would not budge.

He hit the other one with a 2x4 because he was a wise guy

A wild turkey jake (1st year no-beard) flapping his wings because the turkey behind him (you can see his tail feathers behind the front one’s head) just lunged at him to nip him. They are in a driveway, with some thin patches of frozen snow on the ground. Some evergreen trees behind them. Some shelled peanuts on the ground around the turkey.

🪶 In case you’re wondering, yes, he is making the “woop-woop-woop” Three Stooges sound and running around.

As described, the oscillated turkey is a big, meaty boy roughly the shape of a North American wild turkey, but this motherfucker came dressed as a peacock: vibrant blue head with tiny round yellow protrusions, blue and green iridescent feathers at the base of the neck and overly the back that transition to gleaming copper. The wing tips are white. The tail is pale gray except that they are tipped in blue and orange.

Look at this absolute cacophony of a man. The blue skin decorated with vibrant yellow bobbles! The iridescent peacock blues and greens! The intense copper! That tail of pale gray tipped with deep blue and orange!
