They had been more traditional conservatives because we never had the Reform party or the like out here. But something shifted this winter. I wonder if PP or Harper sent some sort of guidelines out to all provincial conservative leaders or something.

Totally an oxymoron, but traditionally more centre than the federal Conservative Party, which had merged with the far-right Reform Party. It seems like they're playing from the far-right playbook in the last few weeks, though.

Yeah, that's not sane at all and definitely needs to be addressed. But we're only preaching to the choir unless those conservative voices join. So I guess I'm glad to hear this edgelord's opinion? Unpleasant but necessary.

I love whales, and have been haunted by humpback songs before. It's not surprising that they have more in common with human language than we thought. We pervasively fail to give other life forms the credit and respect they deserve as our neighbours.

Actually, one thing I'm hesitant about with Bluesky is that it's an echo chamber. We need all voices on one platform, but it needs to be a platform with community rules safeguarding against hate and lies.
