belated, but

playing the demo made me want to play crosscode so i just started a new game and binged that for like 5 hours lol

Played the Alabaster Dawn demo today, seems pretty good

AD seems like it's borrowing from some of the Mana series with the whole weapon swapping and leveling thing, but I like it

I also really like how they tweaked combat arts compared to crosscode

Can't wait for it to come out

it's moments like these that make me simultaneously feel like a simpleton and also that i'm probably happier just enjoying my slop instead of worrying about how "objectively good" it is by writing or art metrics

because while being able to put context clues together to discover a hidden theme or being able to pull multiple interpretations from a work is cool, sometimes i just want things to be explained to me directly with no evasion and without having to watch a 4+ hour video analyzing what it might mean

but then, and this is probably a hot take, sometimes he does the media analysis nerd thing and gets mad when things are explained directly by the narrative instead of being left as subtext that you pick up from clues and i feel conflicted

if there's one thing i like about this random youtuber's videos i found, it's that when clips get dmca'd in the video, he goes out of his way to make a performance out of having to work around it, singing something funny and using his editing to convey what the scene was supposed to be anyway
