Pale brown isopod against a black background. It has a relatively sturdy build, two pairs of rather short antennae the posterior end is pointed. Its uropods (2 per side) end at about the same level as the point and are spaced quite far apart. It also has some red algae on its butt

A caddisfly from a beautiful mid-October day in Montana a few years ago. My brother and I had hiked a few miles into the mountains; this little insect was on the shore of a half-iced lake. Temps that day started in single digits F. and barely got to 32. The white background is snow. 🐙🌿#BugSky

Rhomphaea fictilium, a very silly kleptoparasitic spider with a long flexible booty which they curl into pleasing shapes for Reasons. This one was quite lovely 🤍
