Quick note about this again; the 100 mile zone has nothing to do with Border Patrol’s ability to operate. They can operate anywhere in the country.

The 100 mile zone is ONLY about where they have heightened stop and search powers.

It’s not a jurisdictional thing.

Video on social media shows an immigration agent pulling a gun in Little Village and holding it to the side — which is not an appropriate or safe way to hold a gun. (Among other issues.)

Who wants to use a credit card / go to a store when you can't tell if the form of payment you brought is accepted until you try it?

The best explanation here is: they know much of the American economy is more collusive than competitive, so consumers generally won't have a choice anyway.

James Watson, dead at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers James Watson, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA who died Thursday at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers.

A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.

Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."

Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Trump administration presses Western states to find consensus on shrinking Colorado River The Trump administration gave seven Western states a deadline to agree on initial terms for an agreement on cutting water use to address chronic shortages along the Colorado River.

More broadly, officials across ICE say Noem and Lewandowski have directed them to use a $170
billion infusion of cash from Congress to launch splashy ideas that have proven ineffective or impractical.
Among the examples some ICE officials have cited: A few weeks ago, the pair ordered ICE officials to buy 10 737 jets from Spirit Airlines that they said would be used to boost deportation flights— and for their own travel, according to people familiar with the matter.
Some officials warned the pair that the effort would be prohibitively expensive compared with hiring more flight contractors, the people said.

Once the officials looked into the proposal, they learned that Spirit, which filed for bankruptcy for a second time in August, didn't own the planes. The planes also don't have engines, which would need to be purchased separately.
The project has since been put on pause, though DHS recently purchased two Gulfstream jets for $200 million, according to Democrats on the House Appropriations Committee, who were notified by the department.
A spokesperson for Spirit didn't respond to a request for comment.

Work carried out by Franklin (with doctoral student Raymond Gosling) was given to Watson and Crick without her consent.

One of the key things the Supreme Court is supposed to do on an emergency motion is to balance the hardships to each sides.

Here it is not even close--people starving v. the government not tapping a reserve they are supposed to tap anyway in the event of an emergency

My latest, in @msnbc.com, on how ICE, CBP, and Bovino may be overplaying their hand in Chicago.

Also: this will only make hiring go ICE harder.

And: I hope ppl appreciate that the lying Judge Ellis calls out is NOT an aberration, but a very consistent problem w police claims.
