High-contrast image makes use of heavy shadows, from offscreen overhead lighting and back-lighting — the latter of which is provided compositionally / conceptually by the large Imperial insignia behind her. The central circle of the emblem forms a stylized sun-like crown or halo around Tolvan's head — fitting for the perfect Imperial!
