TV Production alumni, now Logistics Manager, but sometimes found on local Radio; likes James Bond, Snooker, and not obsessed at all with Weekend At Bernie's...

06.03.2025 22:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finding photos of my old workplace, I wonder who remembers (or would admit remembering!) "Adult" TV station "House Of Fun" (later Babeworld XXXTRA, Sky 949). I always liked how realistic they made the house set look at our studio - callers would often think it was a real house. Photos April 2007
02.03.2025 20:05 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ah L!ve TV which eventually became Babeworld, my bosses then bought it and moved it into Milton Keynes where it kept me occupied for about 6 years!
02.03.2025 19:56 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The other place is now so toxic I swear that Elmo could literally write (and let's hope he doesn't) "the late Jean-Marie Le Pen was a Hero" and the blue tick brigade would be unanimous in their praise. "Holocaust, what holocaust?" π€’

25.12.2024 13:51 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Enjoyed Carols From Kings on @bbciplayer.bsky.social - no waffle, just music and readings. Traditional!
Now off to bed to catch up on two episodes of #OnlyConnect before the Big Man arrives*

Still have my Whipsnade Zoo guidebook with his scribble in it. Must be worth absolutely nothing, or maybe less!
24.12.2024 22:28 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We haven't invented listen again yet in Milton Keynes... sadly! Band Aid is a good pick, it's definitely top 30 π
Speaking of Rolf, without purposely sullying the timeline, recognise anyone in this!?
A mixture of single sales, awards and weeks at the top. Mr Blobby is firmly mid-table. Rolf Harris ranks higher, but for some reason I don't play that one...!
24.12.2024 22:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Shameless plug.. I'm counting down every Christmas Number 1 (in order of "popularity") on the radio tomorrow evening at 6. Beats Wallace & Gromit.
I'm giving a Mince Pie (gluten free) to anyone* that guesses the number 1 before it airs!

In the 1980's at school I swear every year we were given a glossy two-sided A4 (or A3?) sheet with the words to about 20 Christmas Carols on it. Professionally produced. Nobody I ask has any idea what I'm on about, nor can I find evidence online! Was this one Quality Street-induced fever dream!?
24.12.2024 21:26 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Damn I had forgotten this, yes I had one plus lots of cards to go in it! Must look on eBay............

01.12.2024 21:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0David's show was called The Workings Of The Universe, in 35 parts of an hour. Whilst we showed it on the channel, it was independently made. I used to have to watch it before airing for compliance purposes... π
01.12.2024 14:21 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Finally, some recognition for Controversial TV (formerly Edge Media). I was #4 in the pecking order at the parent company for 6 years, the stories I could tell...!

He was born 6 years after this guy.

24.11.2024 13:40 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I went back to the other place to see if it had mellowed. You'll not be surprised to hear it was a million times worse...
