I'm the same.For listening at home I can only really listen to 'off centre ' big band.I have albums by Westbrook and Mike Gibbs also Chris McGregor which I really enjoy.Strangley I do like straight ahead big band jazz in a live setting.

I'm not usually a big band jazz fan, preferring quartets and quintets, but this has always been a favourite.

Beautiful album.

Love Beefheart across the board, but this is the one I come back to most regularly.Just that right mix of accessibility and off centre avant blues.

This needs a vinyl reissue.It's a pretty niche area,but as far as reggae film soundtracks go this is right up there with The Harder They Come.
