The ABA supports the rule of law
It has been three weeks since Inauguration Day. Most Americans recognize that newly elected leaders bring change. That is expected. But most Americans also expect that changes will take place in accor...
An important message from the ABA:
"We urge every attorney to join us and insist that our government, a government of the people, follow the law. It is part of the oath we took when we became lawyers. Whatever your political party ... change must be made in the right way. Americans expect no less."

An interesting study, but the 404 article doesn't do a good job of differentiating between the literature review and the actual findings of this study. They attribute some of the findings in earlier literature related to automation to findings from the study reported in the study. It's sloppy.

Looking for legal cases/scholarship that examines freedom of expression rights of immigrants in the EU--specifically, are there legal decisions by the CJEU/ECtHR that discuss whether the exceptions to Article 10 (ECHR)/Article 11 (Charter) apply to limit the free expression rights of immigrants?

If anything, Issue #4 was my favourite of 2024, not least because of the special dialogue section on #syntheticdata, edited by @bcnewell.bsky.social, but also because the first article is titled "Squeeveillance" and deals with #surveillance and cuteness.

TECHNOLOGY
An AI that sees what you see
Microsoft wants an AI companion to follow you around the web. This is only the beginning.
To me, though, the ambition here feels somewhat limitless. What if an AI assistant could see your whole world, know what was what, and help you navigate it? Thatβs the big idea behind Copilot Vision. Letting an AI watch you browse the web is just a step toward putting an AI companion on your shoulder everywhere you go.
In a recent interview, Suleyman explained why collaborating with AI is the future of computing. This is frankly something Iβve heard tech companies pitch for years. But the way things are heading, Iβm finally starting to buy it.
Every future imagined by a tech company is worse than the previous iteration. www.vox.com/technology/3...
