I was looking up to try to identify this on a massive beech at Forest Farm wishing I could see the top. After some high winds …my wish came true:/

Same in Cardiff. Woke up to this beaut in the kitchen sink this morning…fortunately I quite like them, but makes it feel like autumn.

In the epidermis/lateral root cap (LRC), the SMB–FEZ pathway is responsible for regulating the division guiding changes in division orientation that generate the epidermis and LRC. In the ground tissue, the SHR–SCR module guides the changes in division orientation that generate the cortex and endodermal tissues. In the vascular tissue, the TMO5/LHW–DOF2.1 module and, more specifically in the phloem, PEAR transcription factors, drive oriented divisions that regulate vascular proliferation. Shepherd University aquaponics laboratory. The laboratory contains two replicated experimental growing systems, one 6 utilizing fish efflux from bluegill and the other tilapia. Each system consists of a (1) fish culture tank, (2) solid filtration tank, (3) 7 biofilter, (4) distribution tank, (5) oxidizer grow-bed, (6) deep water culture beds with Styrofoam rafts for plant rearing, (7) vertical 8 grow area, and a (8) sump where water is collected from different systems and returned to the fish culture tank (1). In this study, plants grown in small pots with soil were floated on top of Styrofoam rafts, alongside plants growing in the deep water culture beds (6) using 10 fish efflux from the tilapia tank.

🔬🌼 New article in @aobp.bsky.social tracks the first 48 hours after pollination in Brassica napus (canola). Scientists mapped floral organ changes, showing pollen tubes reach the ovules in just 4 hours.
