9/ The historical lesson from the French Revolution is not that we need to back off from expressing our justified resentment & fury. The lesson is that something needed to be *done* in the 1780s to avert the brutal & bloody years that followed.

Haven’t you heard? Words are only defined by the author’s intent, not by some nutty idea of “objective definition”.

This was decided some time ago in the case of “literally v. figuratively”.

I posted the last version of this too hastily. I wasn't satisfied with the art so I added more yeast. Now I think I'm done with it.

If you want to know how damning the Matt Gaetz report is:

1. Gaetz voluntarily lost his only job to stop us from seeing it; and then

2. Gaetz voluntarily refused his only job offer to stop us from seeing it.

Must be quite bad.

You think a classroom teacher would be fired for participating in this particular form of popular entertainment? I disagree.

But sure, if you want to remove context from everything, and somehow argue from that position, fill your boots.

Agreed. There are plenty of legitimate grounds to oppose, no need to criticize participation in the arts.
