Latest thrift find. I've always wanted to try some of the other TTR maps, but don't get it to the table enough to justify the purchase. But once we saw this we couldn't pass it up. #boardgames

One of the more unique games I own. Kickstarted a few years ago primarily for my true crime fan wife. The game itself is a solid 5/10 but they knocked the theming and packaging out of the park. From the box itself to the evidence bag to the "trophy" drivers licenses. #boardgames

Gamers are concerned about and will gladly raise a stink over real issues like black people and clothed women existing in video games. /s

Age of Civilization is an unbelievably tight worker placement game. 6 rounds and 30 minutes. Perfect for when I want something a little more substantial than Mint Works, but not a full on big box game experience. I'm horrible at it but love every minute.

It happened often, but no one quite filled up my wishlist like Feld after playing CoB. Amerigo, Trajan, Carpe Diem..

I came in without touching either. From all my research the consensus seemed to be that Lancashire was better for two(this is definitely one just for my wife and I), but was also the more "cut throat" of the two. For that reason I decided to go with Birmingham, but could definitely see owning both.

Well deserved!

I doubt I'll get any more play time this month, so I can safely put this one in the books. Thug Life was found thrifting and looked too absurd to pass up. It's surprisingly close to being decent. And, oh baby, the hype is real with Brass. I'm in love.

An obscure thrift store find: The Current Number of the Beast from 2012. A pretty simple dice manipulation game, but I'm a big fan of the art work. It gives me such a nostalgic mid 2000s feeling for something that I can't quite pinpoint...

If they are "insignificant" to the game, why not use one of the multiple free use asset libraries that exist? AI isn't the only option.

Ticket to Ride was starting to be called "the new monopoly". Now I see Catan called "the new Ticket to Ride". Much like music, board games suffer from the "it's popular/accessible to more people so it sucks now" way of thinking.

I love seeking out under rated and forgotten games. The games literally no one ever talks about because they don't touch the BGG hotness. Some of my favorites are stuff like Parfum and Patrician: Towers of Influence.

If I may run with the boardgame subdivide:

"I play heavy euros, not random dice chucking Ameritrash."

"I play thematic American style games, not casual gateway games."

"I play light-medium welcoming games, no not like Monopoly."

Embarassed? Every one I've had the misfortune of sharing a room with loves every minute of it.

Slightly diminish a #boardgame: A Sensible Snack for Odin

I've inadvertently accumulated a SJGames collection. Ghosts Love Candy is the favorite. Car Wars definitely shows it's age. Munchkin is Munchkin.... And Scarf-N-Barf is a simple quick great game for playing with kids. Virtually no setup and a ridiculous yet hilarious "theme".

This is the version I have. From what I understand the Jarl tokens are so that this version can be compatible with the Fields of Fame expansion, as it uses the same type of wooden tokens that the original(non viking edition) version of the game uses.

Last month's roudup. Sagrada and Kingdomino are two "new to us" big hits. Mixed Media is a great one I came across that scratches that same super fast, casual, push your luck itch Flip 7 does. I really wish I could've squeezed in another play or two of Rajas.

I recently finished my personal holy grail of board game inserts. A Feast for Odin. This has been at the top of my list, right behind Istanbul Big Box. Setup and teardown is a breeze now and it's genuinely shocking how well everything fits. Well worth the week of printing.

I snagged all 3 on clearance for $2 a piece(at Kroger, of all places). Which do you reccomend? Does any one stand out about the others? I'm most curious about "Buy Everything".

Came across this thrifting. "Inoka". Unfortunately, the best thing I can say about it is it's absolutely the most gorgeous rock, paper, scissors game I've ever come across. 🫤
