I thought that was what the first half of the term was for? Stuff that will be forgotten about by re-election time. In which case theyβve left it a bit late, and still managed to be unpopular.

15.11.2025 12:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have a very firm mental association between Bonfire Night, Remembrance Sunday and Big Coats. And then Christmas shopping in the rain, always.
12.11.2025 04:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well yes, if I could get away with Cheerios for dinner I would, but also wouldnβt fall asleep during the eating in case they disappeared!
11.11.2025 19:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Last time I flew, I had a cylindrical metal cocktail shaker in my case. Fortunately no issues.
10.11.2025 15:12 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Iβve flown with my motherβs foil-wrapped cake too! Thankfully only with the UK, and maybe it had a less delicious texture!
10.11.2025 15:10 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Barnes was where Marc Bolan met his untimely tree. Thatβs all I know about it, hoping to get it as a quiz question some day.
09.11.2025 21:04 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Someone said to me this week βI intend to cycle, but am always too lazy to get organisedβ. I replied that Iβm too lazy to get up early enough to get a parking space at my workplace. And youβve reminded me that it is still more than 5 mins walk to the office so I get soaked if itβs raining.
08.11.2025 10:52 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is the main reason I find I put things off - trying to do them so often makes more unpleasantness.
07.11.2025 12:01 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You seem to have reinvented βchurchβ.
05.11.2025 21:28 β π 6 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Do logistics/finances allow for a folding stick which could fit in your panniers? Or a stick which lived at work? I appreciate that this might not be feasible if you need the stick to walk to and from the bike at each end of the journey.
05.11.2025 21:24 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well thatβs what weβd find out! Our occupational health services use paper reports, and our antenatal service manually transcribes results into Badgernet from the EPR. It is all very tangled.
02.11.2025 19:47 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We had mice at school (ordinary comp, late 1980s) but not at Bristol uni at that time.
02.11.2025 19:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0You are very old - Iβm quite old and my degree dissertation was on a 5 1/4β.
02.11.2025 18:17 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Itβs true! A very serviceable rack indeed.
02.11.2025 12:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0As a cyclist (albeit commuting in one of the flatter bits of England), Iβm taking notes as regards pannier contents.
31.10.2025 19:04 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fair enough! If you go to SE Scotland theyβll ask if you want salt n sauce, and look at you funny if you donβt. And, speaking from experience and assuming you have an English accent, they will be quite ready with the funny looks!
29.10.2025 18:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Not really watered down - vinegared down. Made runnier, as are mushy peas and curry sauce! Love chips with salt n sauce.
29.10.2025 18:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Well, we are all going to die, I suppose. I hope to go quietly in my sleep.
29.10.2025 09:48 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I was getting my PhD in STD diagnostics when my stepchildren were in their early teens. So, we covered that! Much better than when I was that age and HIV had just appeared. A lot of our sex ed was βjust donβt cos youβll dieβ.
27.10.2025 20:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Too right - itβs not βcup of teasβ, is it?
26.10.2025 23:53 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I agree - Iβm lucky that the bike shop of choice is in walking distance of work, and I can be flexible with start times. If unrideable I have use of a car with a big boot, and a husband. Prior to the acquisition of all this I was handier with a tyre lever and a brake cable!
26.10.2025 12:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Hence me taking mine to the bike shop. Iβm usually quite self-sufficient, honest. But also wonβt change a chain due to faff.
26.10.2025 12:45 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0In a rare move Iβve hit βremoveβ on a Facebook friend suggestion. In the past Iβve ignored loads of people - my step kidsβ mum and her husband, toxic colleagues and once my GP. But this guy has an uncanny resemblance to Matt Hancock, and he just had to go.
26.10.2025 09:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Also once had a shard of glass shaped like a sharks tooth go
through my M+. Even the bike shop were impressed.
Or Hull (she says from experience, although I havenβt tried Marathon vs Marathon Plus head to head).
25.10.2025 18:47 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ah - no, it was the Hamburglar wasnβt it?
25.10.2025 12:47 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wasnβt there a Cheeseburglar at one point?
25.10.2025 12:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Ooooh! Say hello to everyone from me!
21.10.2025 15:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Leg and a half! But looking forwards.
19.10.2025 14:30 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thanks for the earworm!
