apple released a new web ui for the app store and i noticed something odd, apple's now applying their own liquid glass-ification tools to app icons that were already uploaded without liquid glass. they have the same url, except apple's modified version has "ia" added to the image name.

i honestly can’t believe it’s been 10 years since they released it, i remember seeing that annoying little popup that would tell you that there’s a free upgrade available if you’re on windows 7 and ignoring it, and now it’s all gone!

rest in peace to a version of windows that i never really wanted to use and never really liked but that i’m forced to use if i wanna do anything worth doing with my pc.

it’s a miracle my computer’s hard drive is still working after 15 years, hopefully i’ll be able to get a new one soon before it kicks the bucket.

good news, i got the purchase buttons to (mostly) work! i still have to work out if i can get the icons to appear, but that's a little above my paygrade.

the customer reviews rating screen, but with the old style of bar graph. they're very 3d-looking compared to the flat, orange stars above it.

i got bored, so i started working on a userscript that would bring back some of the old amazon website's design elements, and i got the old ratings bar style to work! it looks really weird with the new-style stars, but i'm working on changing those too.

here’s one more bit of good news, out of the actually 180 photos i recovered, i managed to get the one photo that might’ve been the best photo i’ve ever taken, THANK GOD. if i lost that one i might’ve actually cried

i tried playing my garbage (the album by the band) tape today, but it got really badly chewed up by my player, and i don’t think it will be able to play the first song every again, that actually really sucks, REST IN PIECE GARBAGE TAPE 1995-2025😔

a windows 10 install but it looks almost exactly like windows 8.1, it has ms paint with a poorly drawn smiley face in it, command prompt, a sticky note that says "hello", a notepad windows saying "(THIS IS NOT WINDOWS 8.1)", a UAC window for command prompt, file explorer, and the about windows screen open. it has all the windows 10 version numbers and everything in it, but everything else is nearly identical.

i got a little bit bored, so i made my windows 10 look almost exactly like windows 8.1. unpopular opinion, windows 8.1 was the last good-looking windows version, windows 10 is way too bland and colorless, and windows 11 is just horrific.

bad news, most of them WEREN'T still there, i was only able to get 170 of my photos out of the possible 1,000. that's all i'm gonna be able to get, because i don't know how the hell to recover photos off my google pixel.

good news, i used a totally legally-obtained copy of disk drill on my mac to recover the files off the sd card and most of them are still there! moral of the story: never trust google.

i just found out that ALL the photos that i took on my trip to nevada are gone, yay, thanks google photos🙃

okay, funny story, they changed the date to september 30th. i guess they realized that people are probably pissed about this, so they gave us 2 or so extra months. i guess that's extra time for me to port my projects to fl studio

25 of these files, they're made for each file you open, and their name is the regular file's name with "._" added in front of it. i added some text to the right of this screenshot, which says "there were 38,643 of these damn files on my hard drive. that's this image times 1,543. holy shit apple."

macs (for some dumb reason) leave little turd files on flash drives with every file you open, i searched my hard drive for them and i found 38,643 of them! that's 154 MEGABYTES taken up for no damn reason. thanks, apple.

my dock on my mac. am i really gonna list all the icons? yes. finder, firefox, messages, facetime, mail, find my iphone, weather, news, calendar, notes, textedit, logic pro x, final cut pro x, flash cs6, photoshop cs6, illustrator cs6, indesign cs6, lightroom 6.0, word 2016, excel 2016, powerpoint 2016, publisher 2013, peazip, minecraft launcher, steam, obs, audacity, photo booth, iphone mirroring, and settings. and for my folders, there's my applications, windows applications, downloads, and the trash. that's a lot of stuff! and it all matches the old, fun style of icons, except for the dock itself. unless they updated the trash icons, whoops!

i finally eradicated all the big sur icons that i could from my mac's dock! here's how it looks now, i think i did a good (enough) job...

i finally figured out how to semi-change the system icons on mac since i hate the big sur icons, so i made some mac os x catalina-styled icons for the apps that didn't exist when catalina was made. sorry if bluesky compresses these to hell and back.

Cakewalk by Bandlab used to be called Cakewalk Sonar before they got bought, sold, and bought again. When it got rebranded to Cakewalk by Bandlab, it was made completely free, aside from some plugins you had to pay for. It's been that way for nearly 7 years now. But now Bandlab wants to make a new, shittier Sonar, that you have to pay for! I know, there's a free tier, but it doesn't have the same stuff that the old Sonar had! Plus, the UI got redesigned, and you know that I DESPISE change. I pray that someone out there, anyone, can crack the activation after they stop supporting it, because I am NOT gonna use that new one. I know that I can't hate without trying it, so I installed it, and it crashed twice before it launched, yay, and now there's a big-ass banner asking you to buy the membership. Screw that. Eat my ass and lick my balls, Bandlab.
