Ich nehme das zum Anlass, nochmal diesen Text zu posten. Es geht um Klimabildung. Und um meine Wahrnehmung davon.

Overall, we're still speeding in the wrong direction!

This graph suggests that the CO₂︎ concentration rise has been slightly accelerating for quite some time already. How can this not imply that the world average temperature increase is slightly accelerating as well (rather than increase in a linear pattern)?

Das Video von @sci-ffert.bsky.social bringt eine klare Message rüber: Wir müssen die CO2-Emissionen auf Null bringen. Eine Reduktion um 1/4, 1/2 oder 3/4 reicht nicht, weil dann die Konzentration in der Atmosphäre immer weiter steigt.

It doesn’t matter, as long as the right people read them. The UN produces reliable statistics and agreed upon reports. Journalists should report on their contents and meaning. For experts they are a good source of information.

Keeping the ground water level low for farming has driven this process: oxygen reaches the plant remains and oxidation releases CO2 and causes the peatland to subside.
Until 10-20 years ago, the response was to lower the water level even more, but that's a vicious circle.
