Some bad news for people living with #MECFS.

Under the 2026 "passback", the "reorganization" of HHS and CDC would cut all ME/CFS funding from CDC.

I think that it's interesting to have this borderline spiritual experience around something that is very modern/scientific/aspiritual. You don't think about religion at the phlebotomist or filling out surveys, usually. And yet. Reminds me of a unit I took on medical anthropology/religion- med ritual

To be clear I mean vocation in the Eastern Orthodox sense.

But yeah. I don't know that I'd describe disability itself as a calling, but I do feel pretty strongly about my contributions to the disabled community and scientific research as a lab rat. And I think that's a spiritual vocation, for me.

I am thinking about the intersection of disability and spirituality today. Spoke to someone about kink as vocation - their thoughts are resonating with me and I'm thinking about how that might apply to disability. Obviously it's not a choice- but forming ones identity around one's illness can be.

And advocating for a particular goverment service is a great lane to be in right now. The point I'm trying to make in this thread is that it does require focus and dedication.

You can't do everything but many people can each do 1 thing.

Y'all pick a lane. Then make a little progress in your lane each day.

Every serious, experienced organizer I know is Doing Their Thing. Instead of freaking out about each bit of bad news, we're in our lanes rapidly building dual power infrastructure and networks that don't rely on the goverment.
