Great to see you back.

First full year of retirement and looking to enjoy Naval and Military history, wargaming and making scale models.
Great to see you back.
18.01.2026 20:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The final hop made and although I didn't fully complete the vehicle as depicted in the photo it's not far off. Happy New Year to all and thanks again to Tom for setting this up!

Top and undercoat
Preps
Although the carpet monster has eaten a washer from my airbrush, I've done some, subtle, modulation of the hull and undercoated the figures. Weathering tomorrow and, if chipping goes well, hopefully an additional 1D6 for movement when I wargame with it...

Cheers Tom, and thanks for organising this while being so busy yourself!

Another airbrush beginner (grubby orc standard!) but would strongly support the recommendation for the H&S Infinity CR+. I've appreciated having the gravity feed for small jobs without too much waste and cleaning between colours. The other recommendation is a compressor with a reservoir.
04.01.2025 18:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Thanks Tom, it was a great way to get a model done (almost..) in a reasonable time. Also really good to see modellers getting back into the hobby through this and your encouragement! Thanks for your time and hope you get to enjoy your wargaming cabin (cats permitting) during your remaining leave.
01.01.2025 19:57 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Big thanks to @tomjmegan.bsky.social for #FestiveTankChallenge. Still some weathering and stowage to be done but I'm done for this year! Great entries and Happy New Year to all.
31.12.2024 21:54 โ ๐ 9 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Close run thing to finish on time. Hoping disc camo works on the superstructure. Factory finish may be OK but hope to emulate some of the fantastic finishes seen on this feed. The Bergepanzer looks more like having had an accident with an oil can! #FestiveTankChallenge #FestiveTankChallange24
30.12.2024 12:27 โ ๐ 4 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Track day, with the fine adjustment hammer to hand. Thank goodness for You Tube videos, hammer not needed and one track done today. That's it until post Boxing Day, Merry Christmas all!

23.12.2024 17:17 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0First blood to the Brummbar - now it's personal!
23.12.2024 17:13 โ ๐ 8 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Well, undercoating the Bergepanzer iv was fine. However the Brummbar running gear and starting to use photoetch for almost the first time in 1 72 scale may not be one of my better ideas. Hopefully it'll dry OK overnight! #FestiveTankChallenge #FestiveTankChallenge2024.
22.12.2024 17:04 โ ๐ 7 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 2 ๐ 0#FestiveTankChallenge choice here, a rather nice Bergepanzer IV from MarDev Minatures (2 pieces!) and/or the Brummbar with somewhat more than 2 pieces, photoetch and zimmerit......
I guess it will depend how busy Christmas gets!
OK, here goes! Inspiration from the IWM photographer of a Churchill MkV supporting the 53rd Division on 25/02/45. My 1970s Airfix Churchill is my personal benchmark. Finished yesterday and quite pleased with the result. Will be a support option when I play Chain of Command! #FestiveTankChallenge
