I was mainly thinking about past defenders of W = AHF rather than Kodsi as I think Karlan’s quote was of Byrne. When you’ve been (unjustly) vilified by your colleagues it is reasonable to want recognition of that by at least many of your colleagues.

Whatever one thinks about the issues I've always thought the vitriol heaped on Stock, Byrne, Bogardus, Gorin, Lawford-Smith and others *for their philosophical work* was unseemly from philosophers.

Well (a) they think W = AHF is pretty clearly true but (b) I think they would settle for recognition they were at least perfectly *epistemically* reasonable in resisting TW are W.

Between July 17 – July 22, CNN aired 40 segments addressing the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show vs. 18 that addressed the existential starvation conditions in Gaza.

In that same period, MSNBC aired 29 segments on Colbert. 6 on the starvation conditions in Gaza.

Charitable view: they care about being correct and being thought by a sufficient number of their colleagues to be correct and not just "winning."
