We need elected officials at Whipple daily. The reporting that’s been done should warrant extreme concern from our leaders and they must USE THEIR POWER to end the detentions there.

Called Amy’s office. Talked to a staffer and said I’d like the senator to visit Whipple to observe the conditions there and report on them. That I’m disappointed she and other leaders have not been there since the judge struck down Noem’s restrictions. I was told she and Tina visited last week.

I can’t handle these statements and posts from our highest ranking and most senior elected MN officials. Acting like saying nice things about Minnesotans and admonishing the administration is the extent of their power.

A local paper did a huge write-up about an upcoming protest in a rural MN town. Can’t access the info because of the paywall. Can’t read anti-ICE letters to the editor. Paywalls keep us uninformed and keep us from building movements.

We don’t grow coffee beans in MN. But we *do* grow a lot of soybeans. And farmers are ending their lives over the losses they experienced this past year.

Yesterday, five-year-old Liam and his dad Adrian were released from Dilley detention center. I picked them up last night and escorted them back to Minnesota this morning.

Liam is now home. With his hat and his backpack.

I talked with my rural DFL leader today. EMQ has no name recognition or rural policies (or at least ones ppl know about). Amy will win rural caucuses; they do not even want to find an alternative. We need options, but we also need to build some urban-rural coalitions going forward.
