This is fantastic! Is the intent to use this to tune and validate traditional MD models using data that better captures protein flexibility? Or new/augmented models?

I'm excited about it! Loved the Fagles Odyssey translation. Loved Nolan before I knew who he was - just knew my favorite movies were A, B, and C... Turned out they had the same director. Stoked for this!

I loved the science MOOCs from MitX that came out ~10 years ago. Then... nothing. They stopped producing ones, and the others I found weren't on the same level. Bummer. (But those originals are still available!)

Updated [lin-alg](github.com/David-OConno...) with 512-bit SIMD support (f64x8, f32x16). Std-compatible floats, Vec3, Vec4, and Quaternion types.

Thx to the compiler team for including this in std on v1.89

Another example how this post illustrates her point is the venom aimed at someone for not dismissing Weinstein.

I would describe something different as the takeaway of this video. This confident dismissal, replete with scare quotes, weasel words, and other cues of an exaggerated reaction is a good example of what Sabine is raising awareness of in this vid.

Released v2.0 of Stm32-HAL. This applies the latest PAC (Thanks stm32-rs team!), which allows better peripheral support, esp for L5, C0, G0, and H5.

In this specific case, demoing projects built with embedded rust (e.g. in the mediums you suggest) helps. If you demo a complex/interesting/in-production project, then "is rust ready for embedded" becomes settled!

Application ABI varies between distros, and versions of distros. (Sometimes forward compatibility for the latter; often not backwards-compatibility). On Windows, for example, you can compile, and expect your program to work on any version of windows from the past ~15 years.

I published an open-source protein and ligand viewer. Goal: fast and easy-to-use. Long-term: a platform for docking and molecular dynamics. I'm gradually splitting it into standalone libs.

Any feedback/desired features appreciated! #RustLang πŸ§ͺ🧬πŸ–₯️

I hope for a simpler format to replace both; PDB and mmCIF are both complex and difficult to read and parse. Maybe even a binary format. Other mol formats (SDF, mol2, PDBQT etc) are more straightforward. I think this is because the CIF wrapper is designed generally; not for atom structure.

Great point. I think to drive this, we need its partner: Social pressure and negative reactions/ostracizing. Yet, it's remarkably rare. A politician or corporation lies? People brush it off and/or forget quickly. I don't understand how or why; this is an observation.

Yesterday Tr*mp froze all NSF funds, today he announced a 56% budget cut. This is going to devastate science in the US. I've spent the morning calling my reps to raise hell and applying for jobs as it's clear I can't sustain my freelance scicomm business on NSF funding anymore (1/n)
