Seattle shows the limits of 21st century planning. Lots of upzoning helps rents, but it's all on unpleasant arterial roads. Lots of transit construction, but it's really long slow light rail. It's better than the suburban planning it's correcting but we all still prefer the cities of ~100 years ago

It's liberating to walk around in Europe or other places where they enforce traffic laws - when you have the right of way you can just proceed without worrying. Can't wait to have that in the US, I'm really excited to see a car stop at a crosswalk for the first time
