Something I struggle with and there’s not a lot out there. I’ve thought about Carl Hiaasen but he’s either young reader or adult. Terry Pratchett, but the length of his books and fantasy can be a turn off for some.

But now, I realize that I am training them to bring their returns to the circ desk at any other libraries that they use. Thinking about how to teach them about different procedures (hand over/book drop) for universal library processes (returning books) so that they can be lifelong library patrons.

We don’t have a book drop, so handing it to us is the only way to return it.

I returned to work last week, but this has been helping me unwind at night - and this past weekend. Only one more set of panels to complete.

There’s something beautiful about reading this as I am getting ready on the same type of morning and feeling the same.

I bought both this and Millie Fleur’s Poison Garden at the same time because they are perfect together!

But my mil is entering end-of-life care in the hospital and we said what might have been our goodbyes last night. And it is so hard.

But I am so thankful for community organizing groups that encourage involvement in local government.

I’m seeing this in the high school library too. Which means I need to prioritize ordering philosophy books that will engage them.

Meet two of the four cats of the apocalypse named after two of our favorite goddesses - Morrigan and Ishtar. Ishtar is the new addition and of course Morrigan wishes death upon her.

And even when StoryGraph doesn’t have the book , the process of adding it isn’t too time consuming.

We are the land: a native history of California - a must-read for any Californian and is what made me wish I was still teaching English as the chapters are great writing examples of how an introduction and conclusion contain a lot of the same information, but are different.

I loved learning more about the tradition and history from Monstrum’s “The Wicked Feline Murder Floof, a Yule Cat Story” video.

When you get to the airport with @meepleslibrarian.bsky.social and she discovers that her flight has been changed and now she’s on your flight.

I know we all think “I’m really loud anyways, so I don’t need a mic” (especially if we work in schools) and you might be loud, but using a mic is a must for accessibility. So, do us all a favor, use the mic and stop saying “I’m a loud person” as a way to opt out of using the mic.
