Day 01, I experimented with Normal maps based on Baked Vertex color/Lighting. It currently only a top light/Shadow but it's a neat look and I want to expand this further.

Two young men enjoying their day on the beach when a mysterious wind blows, turning them into low-poly characters and instilling in them the burning desire to fight. That, of course, has nothing to do with Virtua Fighter. Well, except for the lovely beach under the beautiful SEGA-blue skies. Akira Yuki, the Ryu to Jacky Bryant's Ken, just kicked his opponent so hard he made Jacky fly up in the air as he's looking at the camera in a very "well, that's me... you're probably wondering how I got here" moment.
The blue ninja Kage grabbing Jeffry and doing a very elegant, almost ballet-looking throw while holding his leg at almost 45 degree upwards as his opponent is about to hit the stone floor. Cannot confirm but I'm assuming the ninja is also doing a little tee-hee giggle.
On the aforementioned beach, Jeffry McWild with his bare chest, beard and ponytail dreadlocks, having an argument with the Canadian pro wrestler Wolf Hawkfield, shouting at him and stomping his feet while Wolf looks hunched down like he's devastated, apologizing for not paying enough attention to his friend and possibly lover.
Perchance later in the day, Wolf vents his frustrations at the poor Kage, doing a suplex on his ass, with the ninja looking at the beautiful rainbow colored sunset skies before he passes out from the ground slam.

the anime sfx-making tool! It's called ANIMEVOX, in big letters up top. Then there's the controls: In vertical pairs: Left: Pitch Rise Rise speed Reverb Room size On the right: Wobble Speed Wobble Amount Tone Brightness Volume Next is a row of keys: Randomize - randomizes the sound parameters UNDO/ REDO - go back to parameters you liked Export Wav - self explanatory, it saves a copy of the latest sound to your hard drive. Then the fun buttons, with cute art styles: IMPACT, sparkle, beam, powerUP, PON, BOOM, slash, woosh Each produces a preset sound, which then goes through the fx chain. Hope you enjoy it!

Yes it's a lot better.
But imo, for what you got, a 3 points falloff by character, for like 4-8 could be ''good enough'' without breaking anything. Really depends on what you're planning for your project.
I still admit the computer shader way is cleaner, looking better and more robust. ๐
