City view of Paris, with the Eiffel Tower and rooftops against a blue sky with clouds

Travelling to Paris from London? Take the train. It will probably be quicker (and less stressful) than flying, and can cut your carbon emissions by up to 10x. Eurostar terminates at Gare du Nord right in the city centre – so no need for tedious transfers.

A stack of two yellow kitchen sponges with a dark green scouring surface

When kitchen sponges like these break down, they release microplastics that end up in the sea – harming marine environments and the animals that live there. And they can't be recycled, so remain in landfill for 100s of years. For eco-friendly sponges see: bit.ly/42rwUOX

At first glance, a quintessentially beautiful Irish landscape.

But in reality, it's a deadzone. The graveyard of a once species-rich Atlantic rainforest wonderland, smothered under sheep and, in the distance, sitka.

We are, however, waking to just how much has been stolen from us.
