No mention of Codex Cloud at all in the GPT5 release, but many mentions of Cursor. 🤔

I am still unable to find any new info on Codex Cloud regarding which LLM is being used or context window size since the GPT5 release. Cursor cursor cursor (jan.gif)

#OpenAI did not mention #CodexCloud in their GPT5 launch today. Cursor was front and center and they mentioned #CodexCLI. There was no mention of a GPT5 model replacing codex-1 for Codex Cloud.

When I read comments on Reddit from developers about AI, it is almost always slightly negative to very negative. They at most tend to think its helpful in saving some typing by autocompleting functions for them, or fixing a small bug, maybe a small enhancement.

We are writing full apps. Just do it.
