Exactly this, and honestly Jesus is the same yesterday today and tomorrow. It's okay if the preacher doesn't have big ideas or new takes!

Almighty God, of your saving grace you called Mary of Nazareth to be the mother of your only begotten Son: Inspire us by the same grace to follow her example of bearing God to the world. We pray through Jesus Christ her son, our Lord. Amen ⚓

Emily, I don't have a lot of knowledge of this happening but I love this idea! Kind of like consecrated Virgins in the Roman Church. Praying for you in your discernment and exploration.

It's a good reminder for me to pause and give thanks for this immense means of grace that sustains us through our Christian journey. I've found that too often we can take for granted because we've become overfamiliar.

This is already the case in the common worship calendar of the Church of England and the calendar of the Scottish Episcopal Church where this day is commemorated "The Day of Thanksgiving for the Institution of the Holy Communion."

I know Corpus Christi has a complicated history in modern Anglicanism and has never officially been added to the calendar in PECUSA but I think there is great value in setting aside a day outside of Holy Week to give thanks for the gift of the Holy Sacrament.

God our Father, whose Son our Lord Jesus Christ in a wonderful Sacrament has left us a memorial of his passion: Grant us so to venerate the sacred mysteries of his Body and Blood, that we may ever perceive within ourselves the fruit of his redemption...⚓

If you're using the BCP I would say the Visitation but add in the collect for Easter VII but that's just my opinion. It's one place the rubrics aren't particularly helpful.

Today is Rogation Monday, the first of three days leading up to the feast of the Ascension, set aside for prayer and fasting in which we ask for God's mercy, protection and blessings on the natural world. ⚓

A meditation

When we pray the office (or preform any act for the church), we are making a sacrifice of our time. Literally - we give away something we can not take back.

Furthermore, we can think of everything we do as a sacrifice of our time. And are we making sacrifices to God or idols? ⚓️

Some important thoughts for the Church in its life and witness in today's world. Are we really willing to take up the cross and follow Jesus?

I'm extremely grateful for her time here in West MO. We're going to miss her!
