We, the undersigned authors and illustrators, stand in solidarity with immigrants the nation over and refuse to accept these rampant constitutional abuses by ICE as the new norm. Immigrants are our parents, spouses, and friends. Immigrants are our communities. Many of us are immigrants ourselves. We are all deeply connected to this issue and want our voices heard on the matter. For the past decade, the publishing world has made laudable strides in the diversity and inclusion of immigrant stories. Publishers and booksellers have helped to foster spaces where readers can develop awareness and empathy for migrant rights and history; spaces where young readers can finally discover their own stories on the library shelf. The current administration is trying to tear this progress away. To publishers and booksellers: we call on you to continue your work. Stand behind your inclusive stories and marginalized authors, loudly and without hesitation. Help these stories reach the readers who need them most. To our readers: we ask that you join us in taking up small tasks to support the immigrants in our lives. Call your representatives and ask what they are doing to protect their communities from ICE overreach. Donate to local immigrant aid organizations. Get involved with your local library and school board and speak up for books centering marginalized perspectives. Let’s unite to write a new, better story for all the people in this country. Signed,

Your overwhelming support shows con organizers, panelists, and creators that an online-first festival is not only sustainable when organized equitably, but is something that the worldwide comics community actively wants. Still not convinced? Let's look at some statistics!

$1,908.79 USD from our storefront so far is going directly to independent creators! As a volunteer organization run by cartoonists, we only subtract the credit card fee from sales- so far this has been about $30 USD. We do not take any kind of personal salary or stipend and there are no hidden charges! Our goal is to get funds in the hands of cartoonists who need it, not to make ourselves a tidy profit. Our average order is $15.69 USD with 400+ comics sold to 150+ people!

Our events have an average 22 attendees in Zoom, with Youtube streams garnering 739 unique viewers and a combined 351 watch hours. Of those unique viewers, 35% (or 258 individuals) are new people who found us through related subjects on YT and not through our social media! This means lots of brand new non-co-op people are learning about comics and our industry. One of our missions has always been to spread knowledge amongst cartoonists and enthusiasts- these numbers prove it's working!

my least favorite episode in a long time tbh!! Starts out as one of my favorite types of episodes (earthbound character study with compelling hook) and quickly reveals itself to actually be my least favorite type of episode (intellectually dishonest nonsense)

I have no idea what the consensus is among fans but today’s Doctor Who is surely the worst episode since the Whitaker era in my book lmao…total return to conservatism posturing as what the show seems to think are vaguely left politics. Promising start in there but basically identical to “Kerblam”
